These are Octobers best sellers...

I recently worked on single fruit images to Shutterstock, something I've been been meaning to do for ages. They've been selling well, with oranges and passion fruit doing the rounds, and very popular in China ?!

And surprisingly these tomatoes and this particular Thanksgiving image.

Wedding images....

At the moment Shutterstock isn't able to give my stats on what are the most popular images. At least I'm able to see that last years 'Wedding' doodles sell very well considering I don't really have that many images, compared to Food lets say.

So I embarked on another round of wedding doodles referenced from two wedding magazines I found in the library. This was just a few weeks ago & I can tell they are already downloading frequently. Yey - a step in the right direction for a another stream of income.

I now know a little bit more about the type of people who download particular images, so I just kept it simple with fairly neutral colours. I wouldn't normally use black as a background for wedding imagery but it seems to sell, so it was one of the options.

My best sellers...royal baby factor ?

So I'm carrying on with my Shutterstock conquest to create a residual income from my images so I can run off and create magical illustrations later on in my journey.

With the birth of the royal baby these are trending very well this week...well done Kate and Wills

My best sellers...part 1

Ok much of this blog has been about all the exciting things I'm discovering & finding out about the world and myself. I really do have a day job...My other half had been asking me to consider illustrating 'single' images of my best sellers for Shutterstock (image library)

He feels there is arguably a huge market for art editors/ designers who simply what to 'drop' images on white backgrounds onto a page layout for example.

This week I am mainly drawing vegetables...as they seem to be selling so well. Anyhow I'll be uploading them today & see if they are successful- I am very hopeful. They're drawn in ordinary black marker, scanned into Photoshop, traced in Illustrator, and fiddled around with until I'm happy.
